How to put a smile on your face!
It is coming up to that time again, ordering the turkey, getting the Christmas tree bought or in our case down from the attic and deciding who is going to whose house on Christmas day! Unfortunately not everyone is so blessed and there are lonely folks amongst us and this is only magnified during the festive time. So, why not carry out an ACT OF RANDOM KINDNESS to bring a smile to their face and hearts??
Here are 6 acts of random kindness that I wanted to share with you, they have been collected either from personal experience or heard from other folks;
1) If you are at the supermarket, why not leave the £1 in your trolley?
2) I read this one "A girl slept through her bus stop and ended up at the bus station at midnight with no more money. A couple paid her fare back to her final destination"
3) Why not cook a meal for someone -whilst my mum has been recovering from cancer, so many friends, family and neighbours have been cooking meals. Very useful seeing that the cooking has been left to my dad!
4) You could help to shovel the snow from your neighbours path especially if they are elderly!
5) Why not help out a co-worker when they have a big deadline?
6) You could help someone out for free, maybe babysitting or helping with garden or painting!
So what is stopping you from carrying out your very own act of random kindness? It might even make you smile! Why not tell us if someone has helped with you something randomly or you have carried out an act of random kindness.
Whilst you are being kind, why not surprise someone with one of our brand new gift vouchers - just CLICK HERE . Another gorgeous gift bought without leaving the comfort and warmth of your own home.
Wishing you a very happy and peaceful festive season!
Love Pam x

Shout out for H&M!
Well, this is a bit of a shout out for a company I see grow and grow in their ethical and environmental awareness. I am excited for their future! As it is Climate Week, H&M are advertising that if you donate a large bag of clothes for recycling from 12th to 18th March, they will give you a £5 off voucher to use in H&M before 30th April this year. Well, that's exactly what I did today and was welcomed by friendly members of staff who gave me my £5 off voucher.

As I am really loving H&M at the minute, the voucher didn't last long in my handbag and I couldn't resist buying this Katherine Hamnett 100% organic T-shirt in support of the Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) oh and some hair clips (to help me emotionally cope with my "in-between" length fringe:). If you want to find out more about H&M's philosophy on sustainability and other world issues click here !
Let's save the future and have a fab weekend!

Fashion, Champagne, Music.......
| Con-fused Arts stall at RGU Wonderland Fashion Show |
The clothes and models looked fabulous, even better the RGU Show's programme listed each model and which shop the clothes came from. Easy peasy! As always, I loved meeting new people and chatting about Fair Trade and what Con-fused Arts had to offer. We definitely listen to our customers and after talking to one customer who was very interested in African inspired jewellery, I came back and ordered several new Fair Trade pieces of jewellery, all HANDMADE in KENYA! Check out our Face Book page (http://tinyurl.com/3dyequn) and LIKE US for a sneaky peek of our new African Jewellery.
Thanks to everyone who made the evening very enjoyable and I look forward to the next event. Oh and well done to the students who raised over £9000 for the Archie Foundation! :)

A new conscious collection
I just wanted to quickly raise the awareness of a new ethical collection from H&M called the Conscious Collection. I had a wee nosey at the ladies collection whilst in the shop recently and was pleasantly surprised by the couture feel of all the pieces - floaty light! There are also mens and kids clothes in this collection which are well worth a look!
Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M Head of Design says “It’s not just about organic cotton any more, the possibilities for creating a complete fashion statement with eco smarter materials are huge now. By designing recurring Conscious Collections we have the opportunity to show in a variety of ways what’s possible using more sustainable fabrics.”
The clothes may not be Fair Trade and not all H&M items are made from sustainable materials BUT H&M are trying, they are aware of the implications of disposable fashion and are taking a step in the right direction! For those who shop on the high street, they may now pause for thought as they are made aware of the choices available to them without compromising on style!
